Hydraulic systems have been around for over two centuries now. Modern-day hydraulic systems are far more advanced equipped with components such as the pump, reservoir which also has the hydraulic oil filter, actuators, and valves. These systems are so prevalent these days that you even find one in the steering wheel of your car.
Hydraulic Pump is connected to a prime mover with the help of drive coupling and due to the centrifugal force created by a prime mover, the hydraulic pump starts working.
A Hydraulic pump has two ports, one is called Inlet (from which the pump sucks oil from the reservoir) and Outlet (from which pump delivers oil to the hydraulic system).
